Compared with buying new at €300, this sits right around the going used level: the €198 median makes €300 look ambitious, but it’s not wildly out of line if the unit is immaculate and complete. The 25th–75th percentile band of €126–€256 says this ask is above the usual sweet spot, so I’d treat it as top-end used pricing rather than a bargain.
What makes it worth considering is that the HomePod is still one of the strongest compact smart speakers for bass weight, room-filling sound, and effortless setup, especially if you’re already in Apple’s ecosystem. It’s a good buy when condition is clean and the power lead is included, but at this price I’d want a perfect cosmetic example and proof it’s been well cared for.

Apple Inc. traces its origins to April 1, 1976, when Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, along with Ronald Wayne, founded the company in the Jobs family garage in Cupertino, California. What began as a modest venture to build personal computers evolved into a tech powerhouse, with early forays into audio via the 2001 launch of iTunes and the iconic iPod portable music player.
In the hi-fi realm, Apple focuses on integrated consumer audio solutions rather than traditional separates like amplifiers, turntables, or DACs. The company is renowned for wireless speakers such as the short-lived iPod Hi-Fi (2006-2007) and the more advanced HomePod series, alongside premium headphones including AirPods and AirPods Max. These products emphasize seamless ecosystem integration, portability, and digital streaming over analog purism.
Apple holds a dominant position in the premium consumer audio market, blending high-end aspirations with mass-market accessibility. While not a staple among traditional hi-fi purists—who often critique its closed ecosystem and past efforts like the iPod Hi-Fi as underwhelming—its products command loyalty for sonic refinement, computational audio processing, and design excellence, positioning it as a mid-to-high-tier contender for savvy buyers prioritizing convenience over boutique esoterica.
