With recent comps centered at US$575 and a tight US$563–US$588 band, US$600 lands just over the top of the usual range, so this is a touch ambitious rather than a bad buy. It is close enough that a clean example can still make sense, but I would want the condition and service history to justify the extra US$12–US$37 over the comparable set.
The DH-500 has a strong reputation as a muscular, no-nonsense power amp with real drive and a loyal following, which helps it hold value well. That upside matters most if this one is original, complete, and clearly healthy; given the age, a buyer should still care about proper operation, prior recap/service work, and whether anything essential is missing before paying at the upper end.
