Although the unit is able to track and play any laserdisc just fine, it has a hard time with CDs. Sometimes it will take a few attempts for the player to read a CD, but it has successfully played every disc that I’ve tried with it. There’s also some audible noises coming from the laser assembly when it moves back and forth while changing the disc, and I’m not 100% sure why this is. In pursuit of trying to aid some of these problems, I went inside the player to give it a cleaning with compressed air, polished the laser lens, and replaced both drive belts responsible for tray and laser movement. I cannot guarantee this players longevity, which is why it is listed for parts or repair. Returns will not be accepted for this item under any circumstance. Player is in decent shape cosmetically, showing only some signs of age-related wear around the exterior. No notable points of damage inflicted along any edge or face of the units metal housing or front display. All buttons are appropriately responsive to their designated actions, display screen shines brightly when the unit is on and running, and power chord is void of any tears or frays along the length of the cable.
