Timing matters here because this is an older Samsung wireless subwoofer, and the real question is whether it’s being sold as part of a complete compatible setup or as a lone replacement piece. At €899, it is far above the recent used benchmark for comparable EUR listings, where the median is €98 and even the 75th percentile is only €170, so this is not a fair-market buy by any normal standard.
That said, Samsung subs from this era can still be a solid match for the right soundbar system, with decent low-end support and simple plug-and-play convenience if you need an exact replacement. The only real upside here is if it’s truly mint, fully working, and bundled with the original pairing gear, but even then the asking price is hard to justify; I’d only entertain it if the buyer has a very specific compatibility need and can verify that it pairs cleanly before paying anywhere near this figure.

Samsung Electronics, founded in 1969 in Suwon, South Korea, by Lee Byung-chull, began as part of the Samsung Group with a vision embodied in its name—"three stars"—symbolizing power, abundance, and enduring brilliance. Initially focused on electronics like black-and-white televisions and semiconductors, the company rapidly expanded into consumer appliances, earning global recognition in the 1970s for mass-producing home electronics that set industry standards for reliability and innovation.
In hi-fi audio, Samsung's direct offerings emphasize integrated soundbars, wireless speakers, and headphones optimized for its Galaxy ecosystem and QLED televisions, prioritizing seamless connectivity and immersive home theater experiences over standalone components. Through its subsidiary Harman International—acquired in 2017—Samsung commands a vast portfolio including JBL, Harman Kardon, AKG, and, following the 2025 $350 million purchase of Sound United, premium brands like Bowers & Wilkins, Denon, Marantz, Polk Audio, and Definitive Technology. This arsenal spans amplifiers, turntables, DACs, and high-end speakers, blending legacy hi-fi engineering with modern DSP and streaming.
Positioned as a dominant mid-to-premium market force rather than a pure high-end boutique, Samsung leverages scale and ecosystem integration to deliver accessible excellence, appealing to discerning buyers seeking value-driven performance without niche esoterica. Its aggressive acquisitions have reshaped the audio landscape, making it a pivotal player for hi-fi enthusiasts prioritizing versatility and future-proofing over vintage exclusivity.
