Grimm Audio's MU1 is a Linux-based computer system, paired with an in-house designed FPGA interface board, with Grimm's trademark ultra-low jitter clocking.
MU1 runs as a Roon Core server and endpoint, thanks to the optional onboard storage, it can be utilised to blend your hard-copy files with your streaming services. Those without Roon can still use Tidal, Qobuz, and Spotify Connect services or open-source apps such as mConnect.
With dual AES/EBU outputs capable of multi-channel output, the MU1 can be used with a range of high end DACs.

Is A$15,400 a fair entry point for this one, or are you paying a touch above the sweet spot? Against recent AUD comparables, it sits just above the A$14,949 median and well inside the normal band, so this reads as fair to slightly firm, not a steal and not out of line.
That still makes it an attractive buy if the unit is genuinely clean and complete, because the MU1 is one of those high-end digital front ends that wins fans for its ease, refinement, and “set it and forget it” appeal. The inclusion of the power cable is useful, and if the seller is original owner with careful use, that adds confidence; at this price, I’d mainly want clean photos, clear provenance, and confirmation it’s fully functioning.
