Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Hegel’s H390 is a serious all-in-one, and at kr 35,000 it lands below the kr 36,406 25th percentile, so this reads as a strong deal in today’s SEK market. It is also comfortably under the kr 38,923 median, which makes the asking price genuinely attractive rather than merely fair.

That’s the appeal here: big, controlled power, a very competent DAC stage, and the kind of clean, authoritative sound that suits demanding speakers without fuss. If it’s complete and functioning properly, this is the sort of listing worth moving on quickly; the main upside is getting a high-end integrated for a price that sits on the buyer-friendly side of recent comps.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Hegel

Hegel Music Systems traces its roots to 1988 at the Technical University in Trondheim, Norway, where student Bent Holter founded the company as part of his thesis on revolutionary transistor amplifier design. Targeting distortion—the bane of traditional hi-fi—Holter developed the patented SoundEngine technology, laying the groundwork for Hegel's enduring innovation. From modest beginnings in the early 1990s, with early DACs in 1994 and CD players by 1996, the brand expanded steadily, even hiring engineers amid the financial crisis to pioneer advanced D/A converters.

Hegel's product lineup centers on high-end electronics, excelling in integrated, pre-, and power amplifiers that deliver effortless power and precision. They also produce sophisticated standalone DACs, CD players, and phono stages, emphasizing digital integration and streaming capabilities. Manufacturing occurs in China, while Norway handles all design, circuit development, testing, and software.

Positioned firmly in the high-end hi-fi market, Hegel commands a global reputation for musicality, neutrality, and build quality, with dealers in over 60 countries and accolades like the HiFi+ Innovation Award. Collectors and discerning audiophiles prize its no-nonsense Scandinavian engineering, bridging modern digital demands with analog purity in a competitive boutique landscape.
