I am the second owner of this Pioneer amplifier its lived its life in the dry weather of Tucson. Cosmetically super clean and no issues with the walnut, no chips, no scratches in the aluminum faceplate. I’m being conservative when I say very good condition. Had it serviced at HIFI workshop in Tucson in 2025. Both power and protection lights work. Included is the full owners manual with schematics. If you like your equipment clean and showpiece quality this won’t disappoint. I haven’t sold anything here in a while but know how to pack so it makes the trip anywhere in the US. Compared with a solid integrated amp or receiver in the US$100–US$470 typical used band, US$1,295 is ambitious unless this one is truly exceptional. That’s well above the US$470 75th percentile, so it needs premium cosmetics, documented service, originality, and a standout provenance to make sense.
The upside here is that the SA-9100 is a respected mid-’70s Pioneer piece with the kind of warm, muscular presentation many vinyl and classic-rock listeners still chase. If it’s clean, unmodified, and recently serviced, it can be a very rewarding long-term keeper—but at this number, buyers should expect near-mint condition, fully working controls, and ideally original walnut/aluminum trim, because that’s what justifies paying a collector-grade premium.
