Is €150 the kind of number that makes this an easy yes, or just a decent buy for a clean example? For a Toshiba SD-500, €150 feels fair-to-good rather than a steal; it’s not a budget-bin price, but it’s reasonable if the unit is genuinely excellent and complete.
The appeal here is the sort of early-2000s Toshiba build that tends to be sturdy, straightforward, and nicely specified for CD playback, with the usual upside of solid transport behavior and good audio if the machine has been cared for. At this price, the real value is condition: original remote, tidy cosmetics, and proof it reads discs quickly push it into “worth it” territory. If those pieces are missing, I’d want the price a bit lower, but a clean, fully working example is still an attractive buy for a collector or daily listener.
