Pass Labs Aleph 3 är en legendarisk, single-ended Klass A-stereoförstärkare på 30 watt per kanal i 8 ohm, designad av den välkände konstruktören Nelson Pass och lanserad i slutet av 1990-talet. Den är djupt respekterad i hifi-kretsar för sin extrema pålitlighet och en ljudkaraktär som ofta liknas vid de bästa egenskaperna hos rörförstärkare (särskilt 300B-trioder), men med betydligt bättre kontroll över basen. kr 16,000 is a fair-to-good ask for an Aleph 3, and if it’s clean and working properly it lands in the “worth a serious look” zone rather than feeling stretched. Comparable used asks I found cluster around roughly kr 16,000–kr 25,000, with occasional stronger examples above that, so this is not a bargain-bin price but it is comfortably inside normal market territory.
What makes it appealing is the sound: the Aleph 3 is prized for that pure, saturated Class A presentation, excellent midrange texture, and a relaxed but authoritative grip when paired with sensible speakers. At 30 watts, it rewards efficient loads and a thoughtful system more than brute-force headroom, so the real upside is getting a classic Pass flavor at a sane price. The only meaningful caution is age: confirm it runs cool-as-designed, has no channel imbalance or hum, and ideally includes service history, since a well-kept unit is the difference between a great long-term buy and an expensive project.

Pass Labs, an American high-end audio powerhouse, traces its origins to 1991 when legendary designer Nelson Pass founded the company in his California home workshop. Emerging from his earlier venture with Threshold Electronics, Pass pioneered prototypes of single-ended Class A amplifiers, enlisting collaborator Mike Burley to build custom CNC machines for production. The debut Aleph 0 model shipped in 1992, marking the start of a legacy rooted in pure, innovative solid-state amplification.
The brand focuses intently on a select range of components, excelling in power amplifiers, preamplifiers, integrated amplifiers, and phono stages, all hand-built in Auburn, California. Renowned for minimalist circuits and pure Class A topologies—often blending into Class A/B for efficiency—Pass Labs delivers exceptional warmth, detail, and realism. While they ventured briefly into headphone amplifiers like the HPA-1, their core strength lies in amplification, eschewing speakers, turntables, DACs, headphones, or cables.
Positioned firmly in the ultra-high-end market, Pass Labs commands reverence among discerning audiophiles and professionals for its uncompromising engineering, industrial aesthetic, and emotional musicality. Products embody technical precision with timeless simplicity, sustaining a reputation for quality and innovation that has endured over three decades, making them a benchmark for those seeking transcendent sound reproduction.
