About This Model
The NAD D 3020 is a compact stereo integrated amplifier built around a Class D power stage using Hypex UcD modules, paired with a high-quality analogue preamplifier section. It delivers 30 watts per channel into 8 ohms, with NAD's PowerDrive technology enabling IHF Dynamic Power ratings of 65Wpc into 8 ohms, 105Wpc into 4 ohms, and up to 150Wpc into 2 ohms - giving it considerably more headroom than its rated output suggests. Connectivity is broad for its size: digital inputs include USB, optical TosLink, and coaxial S/PDIF, while the analogue side offers an RCA input, a built-in Moving Magnet phono stage, a headphone output, and a subwoofer output. A Bass EQ circuit helps smaller speakers perform beyond their limitations, Precision Soft Clipping guards against distortion when the amplifier is pushed hard, and an auto-standby mode drops power draw to just 0.5W after 15 minutes of silence. All of this is packaged in a slim vertical enclosure weighing just over 3 lbs.

A great opportunity to own a NAD D 3020 at this price point.

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Unknown condition keeps this from being a steal, but at US$302 it’s only a little above the US$273 median and still within the normal market band, though clearly above the US$294 75th percentile. That makes it a mildly ambitious ask rather than an outlier; if the unit is clean, fully working, and complete, it can still be a reasonable buy for the right buyer.

The D3020 is well liked for compact size, DAC-equipped convenience, and a surprisingly capable, musically easy presentation for small systems. It’s especially appealing if you need a tidy desktop or secondary-room amp, but at this price I’d want confirmation of no output issues, all inputs working, and the original power supply included; those details matter more than cosmetics here.

About NAD

NAD Electronics was founded in 1972 in London by a group of European audio importers frustrated with the hype surrounding Japanese hi-fi products. Led by visionary American executive Martin L. Borish and brilliant engineer Bjorn Erik Edvardsen, the company emerged from a quest to deliver high-performance audio at accessible prices. Their breakthrough came with the NAD 3020 integrated amplifier, the best-selling hi-fi amp in history, which embodied a philosophy of stripping away non-essentials to prioritize pure sound quality.

The brand focuses on core hi-fi categories, excelling in amplifiers—pioneering Class A/B, Class G, and hybrid digital designs—alongside integrated receivers, AV processors, turntables, CD and cassette players, and modern streamers. While not venturing into speakers, headphones, or cables, NAD emphasizes source components and amplification that integrate seamlessly into home theater and custom installation setups, always upholding principles of innovation, simplicity, performance, and value.

Today, as part of Canada's Lenbrook Group and sold in over 80 countries, NAD holds a commanding mid-tier position in the market, revered by audiophiles for affordable excellence rather than ultra-high-end excess. Its "Truth in Power" legacy earns cult status among knowledgeable buyers seeking reliable, award-winning gear that punches above its price, blending vintage heritage with contemporary streaming and hybrid tech.
