Seller's Description

Linn MAJIK DSM Streamer (Music) Selling my unopened and unused Linn Majik DSM.   I bought it with some other Linn Products but ended up getting a LINN Klimax DSM/3.   The unit is still sealed and unopened in its original box. So I can only take a photo of the box instead of the streamer itself.   It's a streamer, a preamp and an amplifier that can suit most of your needs.    I censored my address for security purpose but pickup is available.   It's AU stock with Australian warranty starting from Feb 2024.   All original packaging available so happy to post at buyers expenses.   Let me know if

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Should you really pay A$5,000 for a used Linn MAJIK DSM when the current 4th-gen model retails around A$5,250 and the original MAJIK DSM launched near A$4,750? At A$5,000, this used listing sits firmly in the median range for the original MAJIK DSM, making it a fair but not bargain price; it is certainly not a strong deal given the asking price approaches the cost of a brand-new 4th-gen unit.

The original MAJIK DSM remains a well-regarded all-in-one center because it combines a high-quality DAC, integrated preamp, and 90W power amp in one flexible box that supports FLAC, ALAC, and up to 24-bit/192kHz audio. Its meaningful upside includes genuine original-owner condition (AUD), the inclusion of a configurable mm/MC phono stage, and the rarity of finding this classic Linn one-box system with full accessories intact. If the unit is clean and functional, A$5,000 represents a legitimate buying opportunity for a fellow enthusiast seeking a compact, high-performance Linn solution.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Linn

Linn Products: Brand Overview

Linn Products was founded in 1973 by Scottish engineer Ivor Tiefenbrun in Glasgow as a vehicle to manufacture the Sondek LP12 turntable, which would become the company's most iconic product and a cornerstone of high-fidelity audio. The brand emerged during the golden era of British hi-fi with a revolutionary "source first" philosophy—challenging the prevailing industry belief that loudspeakers mattered most by demonstrating that superior sound quality begins with the audio source. This foundational principle has guided the company's engineering ethos for over five decades.

Linn's product portfolio spans the complete hi-fi chain, from turntables and tonearms to preamplifiers, power amplifiers, and loudspeakers. The company introduced the world's first microprocessor-controlled preamplifier and power amplifier in 1985 (the LK1 and LK2), establishing itself as an electronics specialist. From 2007 onward, Linn pivoted toward digital music streaming, becoming an early adopter of network-based audio playback supporting studio master-quality recordings at 24-bit/192 kHz resolution, and discontinued CD player production in 2009 to focus on this strategic direction.

Linn occupies the high-end segment of the audio market, commanding respect among discerning audiophiles and collectors for its uncompromising engineering approach and longevity. The brand's reputation rests on meticulous product design, acoustic isolation principles, and a commitment to eliminating weak links in the signal chain—a philosophy that has made Linn one of the most influential manufacturers in hi-fi history and a benchmark for quality-focused audio engineering.
