Seller's Description

Benchmark Media Systems BEN500-06903-350 Interconnect Cables (XLR) I have for sale a pair of Benchmark XLR cables these are 3FT/0.9M in length.   The are a star quad construction utilising Canare L4E6S cable and Neutrik connectors. This pair present like new as they have only been used for evaluating a DAC/Pre Class D amplifier combination last year, then off to the parts cupboard. Time for a clear out.   I purchased them new from Australian Retailer.   Will post to all mainland Australian states nd Tasmania for a flat feee of $10.00 via Aust Post. Condition: As New / Mint Payment Method: EFT,

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

This is a bargain at A$100. Benchmark DACs have a strong reputation for clean, neutral, low-noise conversion, and even older units like the DAC1 family were built as reference-grade two-channel converters with balanced outputs and solid digital-input flexibility. In the Australian used market, that kind of Benchmark pedigree usually sits well above A$100, so this looks comfortably below a fair buy-in point.

The real upside is simple: if it powers up, locks to signal, and the inputs/outputs are working, you’re getting a serious studio-leaning DAC for pocket change. “Like new” condition is especially attractive on a Benchmark piece, since these are the sort of boxes people tend to keep in service for years when they’re healthy. I’d still confirm the exact model variant and that it includes the right PSU and all digital inputs you need, but at A$100 this is the kind of listing worth moving on quickly.

About Benchmark Media Systems

Benchmark Media Systems traces its roots to 1983, when founder Allen H. Burdick launched the company as Benchmark Sound Company from a garage in Dallas, Texas. Burdick, a lifelong audio enthusiast, built the brand around meticulous engineering principles, evolving it into a dedicated hi-fi operation. Today, headquartered in Syracuse, New York, where it engineers, manufactures, and ships products, Benchmark upholds over four decades of American craftsmanship focused on precision audio reproduction.

The company specializes in a focused lineup of high-performance components, including flagship digital-to-analog converters like the DAC3 series, transparent preamplifiers such as the LA4, and the acclaimed AHB2 power amplifier—named in honor of Burdick himself. This streamlined portfolio avoids speakers, turntables, headphones, or cables, concentrating instead on core electronics that prioritize signal integrity and minimal distortion.

Benchmark occupies a premium niche in the hi-fi market, revered by discerning audiophiles and measurement enthusiasts for its exceptional transparency, low noise, and top-tier objective performance. Positioned as a high-end boutique brand, it appeals to buyers who demand verifiable excellence over hype, consistently outperforming competitors in rigorous testing while delivering reliable, no-compromise sound.
