Seller's Description

Sonos ZP100 Streaming Amplifier Moving all of my remaining Sonos gear as I no longer use their ecosystem.  These four ZonePlayers (ZP100) are in excellent used condition, fully tested, and functioning perfectly. Some of them have a few light scuff marks but are otherwise in fantastic condition.  Comes included with power cables and original manual and box. Note the ZP100 is only compatible with the S1 app.   Great way to add multi-room audio capabilities to your space, just add speakers. If there is enough interest, I'm also happy to split these out but would prefer to move them as a bundle.

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

With unknown condition, this AUD 795 asking price for a used Sonus ZP100 (likely the early ZP100 digital music player/streamer, not speakers) demands caution—it's steeply ambitious against our recent comps, where the median lands at AUD 388 (25th percentile AUD 267, 75th AUD 509). Even pristine examples rarely exceed AUD 500 in today's softening used hi-fi market; opacity on wear pushes this into overpriced territory unless it's a mint time capsule.

Before biting, verify the Ethernet port and power supply—ZP100s from 2005-2007 often fail here from capacitor rot or heat stress, killing streaming dead. Insist on proof of functionality via hardwired network test (WiFi was spotty), full firmware update capability, and original remote/AC adapter; skip if no box or service history, as repairs now cost more than the comps.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Sonos

Sonos emerged from Santa Barbara, California, in 2002 as Rincon Audio, Inc., founded by John MacFarlane, Craig Shelburne, Tom Cullen, and Trung Mai. MacFarlane's success with Software.com provided crucial seed funding for their audacious goal: a wireless multi-room music system free from the wires and complexity plaguing home audio at the time. Renamed Sonos in 2004, the company debuted its pioneering ZonePlayer and controller in 2005, cementing its roots in innovative, user-centric sound technology.

The brand specializes in wireless speakers, soundbars, and home theater systems designed for seamless multi-room playback and integration with streaming services. Sonos offers everything from portable Bluetooth options like the Roam to high-fidelity architectural speakers and subwoofers, alongside recent forays into headphones and whole-home audio solutions. Amplifiers, turntables, DACs, and cables fall outside their core focus, which prioritizes app-controlled ecosystems over traditional hi-fi components.

Sonos holds a commanding mid-to-premium position in the consumer audio market, renowned for inventing wireless HiFi and setting the standard for effortless, high-quality sound. Trusted by audiophiles and casual listeners alike, it blends accessibility with sonic excellence, dominating the smart speaker segment while appealing to discerning buyers seeking scalable, future-proof systems.
