At £1,150, this sits around the going rate for a clean C-90a, not a steal but not out of line either. Recent asking prices I’ve seen cluster roughly around £900–£1,300, with especially tidy or serviced examples pushing a bit higher, so this reads as fair if the unit is genuinely straight and complete.
That makes it interesting because the C-90a is one of Pioneer’s better-regarded late-’80s control amps: very refined phono stage, flexible switching, and a polished, luxurious presentation that still holds up. The real upside is condition and originality—original remote, manual, and unmolested internals matter here. At this price, I’d want proof it’s quiet, fully functional, and hasn’t needed recent bodge repairs, but a healthy example is still a solid enthusiast buy.
