Our Thoughts RADAR AI

This looks like a strong buy at US$1,200 — well below the US$2,100 25th percentile and far under the US$3,000 median for recent comparable listings. For a working McIntosh MC2205, that’s bargain territory rather than merely “good value.”

The MC2205 is one of the classic big McIntosh solid-state power amps: 200 watts per channel, proven build quality, and the sort of authoritative, relaxed drive that still has a loyal following. If the unit is clean, fully functional, and comes with cables/accessories as stated, the upside is real; the main things to confirm are that it powers up quietly, both channels meter and perform properly, and there’s no sign of neglected storage or amateur repair.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
