Seller's Description

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

The Atoll CD100 has a solid reputation as a lively, rhythm-friendly CD player with real musical drive, and €158 is a standout price if this is the original model rather than a later variant. Typical used listings I found sit more like €350–€700 for standard units, with Signature or newer EVO versions often well above that, so this asking price looks like a strong bargain.

That makes it a very appealing buy if it powers up cleanly and reads discs reliably. The upside here is simple: you’re getting a respected French player with a distinctly engaging sound for not much money. Just verify tray operation, track skipping, and that the laser locks quickly, because on an older CD player those are the only checks that really matter at this price.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Atoll

Atoll Electronique emerged in September 1997 from the Normandy town of Brécey, France, founded by brothers Stéphane and Emmanuel Dubreuil. Driven by a mission to deliver true high-end audio electronics at accessible prices, the family-run company has remained rooted in its original factory, where it doubled production capacity just a few years ago without chasing fleeting trends. Every product undergoes handmade assembly, with printed circuits wired by hand, discrete components soldered meticulously, and rigorous multi-stage testing before shipment—80% of parts sourced domestically for unwavering quality control.

The brand's portfolio spans over 40 models, centering on integrated amplifiers like the acclaimed IN200 Signature and IN50, alongside preamplifiers, power amps, DACs, CD players, and music streamers. Modular options, such as phono-stage and DAC expansion boards, enhance versatility, while a disciplined philosophy ensures new releases only when meaningful advancements justify them. This focus on amplification and digital sources defines Atoll's identity, eschewing speakers, turntables, headphones, or cables.

Positioned as a mid-tier high-end contender, Atoll earns praise for punching above its weight against rivals like Marantz, Parasound, and Rotel, blending Class A sonics with Class AB power in compact, domestically crafted designs that master demanding speakers. Widely awarded in Europe and gaining North American traction, it appeals to discerning buyers seeking engineered excellence without extravagance—a boutique gem for the savvy audiophile.
