This pre-owned turntable is in very good condition with an unbraced solid wood plinth and lid; the lid hinges are broken (see images). This 1981 Sondek LP12 uses the original pre-Valhalla basic power supply with its internal phase-shift network.
It runs natively at 33⅓ rpm; 45 rpm requires a physical adapter sleeve over the motor pulley (not included). Speed accuracy is closely tied to local mains frequency, as was standard for this era.
The Ittok LVII’s large-diameter thin-walled aluminium tube, 11.5 g effective mass and 3–9 g cartridge range make it an ideal partner for the 8 g Klyde.
With 0.15 mV output, 4 Ω internal impedance and a recommended load above 50 Ω, the Klyde rewards a high-quality MC phono stage and a carefully set-up arm.
