Unknown condition makes this harder to fully price, but A$513 is on the firm side for a BDP-83 SE unless it’s exceptionally clean, boxed, and fully tooled-up. Typical seen used pricing for the model lands more around the A$300–A$450 zone, with well-kept examples occasionally pushing a bit higher, so this asking price looks a touch ambitious rather than a slam-dunk.
That said, the 83 SE is still a respected universal player: excellent analog-stage sound, SACD/CD capability, and a built-like-a-tank Oppo chassis that still appeals to two-channel and disc collectors. If it’s an original-owner unit with remote, box, and no tray or laser issues, it can still be a worthwhile buy; just make sure the seller can prove smooth disc loading, HDMI output, and SACD playback before paying at this level.
