Origi
Compared with the usual wait-and-hope alternative at this level—stretching to a new pair—the asking price is attractive. At kr12,500, it lands below the kr13,051 25th percentile and well under the kr13,603 median for recent SEK comps, so this reads as a strong buy rather than a merely fair one.
That’s especially appealing because these are a respected floorstander with a polished, room-filling sound: smooth top end, good scale, and a musical, easygoing presentation that suits long listening sessions. If the cabinets and drivers are clean and the pair is complete, this is the kind of used listing that gives you real hi-fi value without much drama.

Sonus faber was founded in 1983 by Franco Serblin in Vicenza, Italy, emerging from a singular vision to create loudspeakers of superior musical quality using natural materials and refined design. The company's name, Latin for "handcrafted sound," encapsulates its foundational philosophy. Serblin's early work—including the iconic Snail prototype inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's sketches—established the brand's commitment to marrying acoustic performance with sculptural aesthetics. The company's Italian heritage remains central to its identity, with production continuing in Vicenza for over four decades.
Sonus faber specializes exclusively in loudspeakers, a focused approach that has defined its market position. The brand is renowned for handcrafted wooden cabinets, violin-inspired industrial design, and signature model lines including the Guarneri Homage, Amati, Stradivari, and Aida. Early designs featured Kevlar woofers and silk-dome tweeters, though solid-wood construction became the defining material signature. Each speaker is treated as a musical instrument rather than mere audio equipment, reflecting the company's artisanal manufacturing ethos.
Sonus faber occupies the premium high-end segment of the audio market, commanding respect among discerning audiophiles and collectors worldwide. The brand's reputation rests on uncompromising craftsmanship, luxury materials, and the integration of traditional Italian design principles with contemporary audio technology. Its positioning appeals to listeners who view speakers as both functional components and interior design statements—a niche that has sustained the company's prestige and premium pricing across its four-decade history.
