This is a strong deal. At €250, it sits well below the €264 25th percentile for recent comparable listings and far under the €594 median, so the asking price looks buyer-friendly rather than merely fair.
The Monarch MK2 is widely respected for its resolving, spacious, reference-leaning tuning, so a clean pair can be a very serious value in the used market. The big caveat is the “defect” note: on a flagship IEM, that only works as a buy if the fault is clearly understood, limited, and reflected in the price; otherwise assume repair risk and verify drivers, cable, shells, and accessories before committing.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
Thieaudio emerged from a tight-knit group of DIY audio enthusiasts, evolving into a prominent player in the in-ear monitor (IEM) market without a single founding year or named founder tied to its official origin. Backed by an international team of engineers primarily from China and South Korea, the brand channels a passion for high-fidelity sound that resonates deeply within global audiophile circles.
The company specializes in premium IEMs and headphones, renowned for innovative driver configurations like the quadbrid setup in its flagship Origin model—combining one dynamic driver, four balanced armatures, two electrostatic drivers, and a bone conduction unit for enhanced bass, precise mids, and natural treble. Handcrafted with top-tier materials and custom cables, Thieaudio products prioritize technical excellence and immersive listening over traditional categories such as speakers or amplifiers.
Positioned as a mid-to-high-end niche boutique in the portable audio segment, Thieaudio commands respect for its best-in-class tunings, superb performance, and accessible pricing under $1,000, making it a go-to for discerning bass enthusiasts and critical listeners seeking refined, budget-friendly excellence in a crowded market.
