Rega Planar 25 Turntable Fair bit of info out there on this 25 year Anniversary edition turntable from Rega. Uses the RB600 arm and has an Elys 2 cart which would maybe have 50-70hrs on it. The turntable presents as new. I have had it for a few years now and I do love it. Very responsive to better phono stages but sounds great with all. Just not getting enough use. Happy to ship at buyers risk and cost, unfortunately no original packaging but I can package appropriately. The Planar 25 is a respected older Rega, but the clearest hard comparator here is a UK auction sale at £300, which is roughly A$580 before any local-market premium; that puts this asking price well above what the model has recently changed hands for, even allowing for condition and Australian availability.
What makes it worth considering is the Rega recipe: a lively, rhythmically engaging belt-drive table with good speed stability, a quality arm, and the sort of simple, low-fuss setup that still wins over vinyl listeners. If it’s genuinely like new, with dust cover, original box, manual, and a healthy cartridge, the premium is partly about buying a clean, complete example rather than a bargain-bin project. At A$1,100, I’d want proof of a recent service or exceptionally complete provenance before pulling the trigger.
