Really nice Sansui SR 626 turntable, look them up, it has some peeling to the faux wood veneer and it's missing the clip that holds the tone arm when it's resting. It's pretty dusty and could use a good cleaning but it works, The Shell on top is a little small and when it's on 33-1/3 setting it sits on top of that switch. I had this serviced at A-HI electronics in Norwood they fixed the speed issue. It comes with a super nice MicroAcoustics MA-2002 cartridge too! Might need a weight and cartridge adjustment. The SR-626 is a solid, mid-tier vintage Sansui direct-drive deck, but US$500 is at the ambitious end of the market unless this one is exceptionally clean, fully serviced, and comes with a strong cartridge/headshell setup. Typical used sightings for this model are far lower, with one recent ask around US$20 for a deck and accessory parts floating in the US$50–US$70 range, so the asking price only makes sense at the very top of condition and originality.
What makes it worth chasing is the combination of Sansui build quality, stable direct-drive performance, and a generally well-liked, listenable presentation that still holds up for serious vinyl use. If the plinth, arm bearings, speed lock, and auto functions are all healthy, and it includes the dust cover, original headshell, and a good cartridge, there’s real upside here. But at US$500, any question marks around service history or missing pieces matter a lot.
