The Technics SL-10 is a legendary compact quartz direct-drive linear-tracking turntable produced from 1979 to 1985 and built to the exact dimensions of an LP record jacket.
This pre-owned example is in good condition in silver-grey painted aluminium with a dark-tinted plexiglass lid (some scuffs on the lid). It has received a carriage belt replacement, a new Audio-Technica AT3482P MM cartridge and stylus, a replaced lamp, and has been calibrated and tested. One spring foot is held by tape; no accessories or original packaging are included. Collection from our showroom is preferred.
With its gimbal-suspended linear-tracking arm, high-grade cartridge compatibility and quartz-locked drive, the SL-10 combines remarkable engineering with true plug-and-play vinyl enjoyment, which is ideal for enthusiasts seeking distinctive vintage performance at a competitive price.

Why Choose the Technics SL-10 Direct Drive Turntable?
The SL-10 remains one of the most ingenious and collectable vinyl decks of its era, packing reference-grade stability and linear tracking into a cabinet no larger than an album sleeve.
• Exceptional Speed Stability: Quartz-controlled PLL servo keeps pitch locked to within ±0.002%.
• Low Tracking Error: Linear-tracking gimbal arm follows the groove with high accuracy and low distortion.
• Flexible Cartridge Support: Built-in switchable head amp accepts both MM and MC designs.
• Space-Saving Design: 315 mm square chassis can operate horizontally or vertically without sacrificing performance.
• Serviced and Ready: Fresh belt, new cartridge and stylus, replaced lamp and full calibration restore reliable daily use.
Audition the Technics SL-10 at our Lane Cove showroom to hear how this compact classic still delivers precise, involving vinyl playback.
The SL-10 pairs a 300 mm aluminium die-cast platter with a coreless direct-drive motor for vanishingly low wow and flutter and rumble of –78 dB. The short 105 mm effective-length linear-tracking arm is dynamically balanced and gimbal-suspended, reducing skating and maintaining consistent groove contact across the record.
Extensive automation and a built-in head amp mean the Technics SL-10 can sit neatly in a modern system while retaining the distinctive look and engineering that made it an icon.
For listeners who want vintage Technics performance in a genuinely compact, well-sorted package, this example offers a compelling combination of history, service work and musical capability.
