Seller's Description

Pathos Classic One Mk3 Integrated Amplifier (Hybrid) Hi Everyone,    I'm in the process of assisting a close friend liquidate a vast majority of his Hi Fi equipment as he recently transitioned into Aged Care Centre and unfortunately cannot take the majority of his equipment with him to the centre.  We are currently cleaning out his apartment and have not come across any paperwork for the purchase of this item, but if we do find it rest assured it will be provided.   My friend tells me he recalls purchasing this item as a “demonstration” example from Audio Connection in Parramatta, N.S.W. back

# Pathos Classic One Mk3 Integrated Amplifier – Buyer Notes

Is this hybrid integrated actually priced to move, or are you overpaying for the name? At AUD $3,189, this Pathos sits well below the typical used market range for the Mk3 model—you'd normally expect AUD $4,477 to AUD $7,316 for comparable examples in decent condition. This asking price suggests either strong motivation to sell quickly or potential condition issues that warrant inspection. For a respected hybrid design known for musicality, this could represent genuine value if the amp checks out, but the discount raises questions.

Before committing, verify the tube complement is original or recently replaced (tubes are the lifeblood here and expensive to refresh), confirm there's no hum or channel imbalance at low volumes, and ask about service history—these amps benefit from periodic bias checks. Ensure all original documentation, remote, and interconnects are included; missing pieces on a boutique amp like this add real cost downstream. A working unit with clean internals at this price is worth pursuing; a neglected one is a money pit.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Pathos Acoustics

Pathos Acoustics emerged in 1994 from Vicenza, Italy, when three engineering pioneers—Gaetano Zanini, Gianni Borinato, and Paolo Andriolo—united around Borinato's revolutionary amplifier circuit idea. Born from a serendipitous collaboration in the architecturally rich northeastern city, the brand crystallized to champion InPoL technology, a patented Linear Pump Follower system that Pathos has refined into a cornerstone of its identity. Handcrafted in their Vicenza factory, every component reflects Italy's legacy of precision artistry fused with sonic innovation.

The company specializes in high-end hybrid amplifiers, blending vacuum tube warmth with solid-state control for integrated and preamp solutions like the acclaimed InPoL Heritage MkII. This pure Class A, fully balanced design emphasizes dynamic range, low distortion, and emotional depth, often incorporating tube input stages for analog richness. While amplifiers define their core, Pathos extends to preamplifiers, maintaining a focused portfolio that prioritizes proprietary tech over broad categories like speakers or sources.

Positioned as a boutique high-end marque, Pathos commands respect among discerning audiophiles for heirloom-quality builds and visceral sound that transcends mere fidelity. Its Italian craftsmanship and award-winning InPoL heritage elevate it beyond mid-tier competitors, appealing to buyers seeking sculptural masterpieces that deliver tube-like soul with modern slam in dedicated listening setups.
