This is basically a buyer’s market at this level: €1,900 sits right on top of the €1,892 median and well below the €2,491 75th percentile, so it reads as a fair asking price rather than a stretch. For a flagship open-back like this, that’s a sensible place to be—hardly a bargain-bin score, but comfortably in the “worth a serious look” zone.
What makes it compelling is the headphone itself: it’s a top-tier Austrian Audio model with the kind of resolving, spacious presentation that appeals to detail-first listeners and people who want studio-grade precision without losing musical flow. At this price, a clean, complete set is the real upside, especially if the pads, cable, case, and headband are all in good shape. Since condition is unknown, the key buyer checks are wear on the pads and headband, plus confirmation that all included accessories are present.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
Austrian Audio is a Vienna-based pro-audio brand founded in 2017 by former AKG engineers and creators after AKG’s Vienna office closed, with the company explicitly framing itself as a continuation of that local heritage. Its identity is tied to Austrian engineering rather than long consumer-audio history, so it is a relatively young brand by hi-fi standards.
The company is best known for microphones and headphones, especially studio-oriented models such as the Hi-X series and its vocal/instrument microphones. It is not primarily a maker of amplifiers, speakers, turntables, DACs, or cables; its catalogue is concentrated in professional and monitoring gear rather than full-system hi-fi components.
In the market, Austrian Audio sits as a serious pro-audio specialist with a reputation for high build quality, precise sound, and value above pure luxury positioning. It is best described as a niche, high-end-leaning brand for recording engineers, musicians, and discerning listeners, rather than a vintage-collector name or a broad consumer hi-fi company.
