This is a buyer’s market only if you’re comparing it to the new-gear price; in the used market, £1,250 looks very ambitious against a typical £314 median and even well above the £599 75th percentile. At that level, it’s not a bargain by any stretch, and it would need to be an unusually strong, boxed, warranty-backed example to feel justified.
That said, the unit itself is genuinely desirable: Rega’s MC-only AOS is a serious, low-noise, adjustable phono stage with real trickle-down Aura pedigree, and it’s aimed at high-quality low-output MC carts. A pristine, only-6-months-old example has some appeal, especially if it includes the original packaging and paperwork, but the buyer should still push hard on provenance and remaining warranty because the price sits far above the normal used pool.
