€300 is below the going used range I’m seeing for this model, so this reads as a good buy rather than an ambitious ask. Comparable examples show it around €250 to €385 in the current used market, with a rare “mint” presentation piece listed much higher, so €300 sits in the sweet spot for a clean, working unit.
What makes it attractive is that this is one of Akai’s better-regarded late-80s double decks: GX heads, autoreverse, Dolby B/C, and dual-deck convenience in a compact chassis. If it’s truly excellent, that matters more than with many cassette decks because cosmetic condition, transport health, and any included original paperwork or remote can add real value. At this price, I’d want confirmation that both transports record/play cleanly, auto-reverse behaves properly, and the belts have been sorted, but overall it looks like a sensible enthusiast buy.
