TEAC AS-100 Integrated Amplifier (Solid State) One of the holy grails of the 70s by TEAC. An exceptional amplifier, and anybody who has ever heard one can will confirm that this amp is really one of a kind. This unit is in excellent condition, untouched and all original. Built like a tank, with the aesthetic to match. The only upgrade made was the banana post terminals at the rear. Everything else is original. For a clean, like-new example, that premium is not outrageous, but it is enough to make the buyer ask for something extra in condition, completeness, or proof of careful ownership.
That said, this is the kind of integrated amp that can be a solid long-term buy if it’s truly pristine: TEAC’s AS series is generally well-regarded for straightforward, competent amplification, good build, and an easy-to-live-with feature set. If the unit is original-owner, boxed, and includes remote and paperwork, the premium gets easier to justify; if not, I’d want closer to the A$729-A$799 band before calling it compelling.
