The 9x is no different in this regard, as it delivers the goods in both music and theatre applications. 9x, however, delivers a level of intimacy, clarity and speed that means there are no longer trade-offs between the sonic balance of smaller models
Compared with buying new, this is priced right around the middle of the recent used market: A$1,997 sits a touch above the A$1,892 median and comfortably within the A$1,794–A$2,091 interquartile range, so it reads as fair rather than a bargain or an ambitious ask. For a REL T/9x, that’s a sensible place to be if the condition is genuinely good and it’s ready to drop into a system.
The appeal here is the usual REL one: fast, musical bass that integrates well with proper stereo speakers, not just home-theatre thump. The T/9x is well regarded for adding weight and scale without sounding bloated, which makes it a worthwhile buy for music-first systems. At this price, I’d want confirmation of clean operation, no driver/rattle issues, and included power/cable bits, but there’s nothing about the number itself that feels out of line.
