Coherent Audio emerged around 2007 from the workshop of Frank Fazzalari in Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada. A veteran of the speaker-building industry, Fazzalari had spent years crafting enclosures for prominent Canadian brands before launching his own venture. Drawing on this hands-on heritage, the company embodies a boutique commitment to handmade, precision-engineered loudspeakers that prioritize sonic purity over mass production.
The brand focuses exclusively on high-performance speakers, with standout models like the Retro 15 Neo Be—a horn-loaded design featuring a modified Radian 5215 15-inch coaxial driver. These handcrafted units, measuring 22 by 13 by 34 inches, boast exceptional power handling up to 700 watts AES and employ unique aluminum-coned drivers sourced globally for minimal distortion. Coherent also offers modular custom speakers, emphasizing tailored solutions for discerning setups.
Positioned as a niche boutique in the high-end hi-fi market, Coherent Audio earns praise for its drop-dead gorgeous aesthetics and sonically superior performance among audiophiles. It appeals to knowledgeable buyers seeking rare, low-distortion drivers and artisanal quality, carving a cult following rather than mainstream volume.
