Seller's Description

Primare I22 with DAC Integrated Amplifier (Solid State) For sale: Primare I22 with DAC.   Primare I22 with installed DAC in excellent condition.   I have owned it since I purchased it new from Addicted to Audio on 17 May 2013 and am still listening to it as I type this ad. It has spent its whole life in a smoke and pet free environment. I have the original invoice and will provide it with the unit so its history can be verified.   As I listen to it now, it is connected to my Blu-ray disk player streaming Apple Music radio from an Apple TV driving a pair of Sonus Faber Amati Futura speakers. On

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

A bargain: at A$500, this sits far below the A$1,521 25th percentile and well under the A$3,466 median, so it’s priced as a serious buy rather than a merely fair one. Against those recent AUD comps, this is the kind of asking price that should move quickly if the unit is genuinely working.

This is a well-regarded Primare integrated, and the DAC-equipped version adds real flexibility for a simple, clean system: enough power for many speakers, a refined solid-state presentation, and an easy route to better digital playback without extra boxes. In excellent condition, the upside is strong, especially if the remote, original packaging, and any accessories are included; I’d just confirm all inputs, the DAC, and volume control are behaving properly before jumping.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Primare

Primare traces its origins to 1985, when Danish industrial designer and audiophile Bo Christensen, frustrated by the era's cluttered audio gear, founded the company alongside engineer Bent Nielsen. Born in Denmark as Primare Systems AB, it embodied a mission for exceptional sound quality, elegant Scandinavian aesthetics, precise proportions, and intuitive interfaces. Rejecting the industry's short product cycles, Primare pioneered "living products" designed for longevity and evolution, with its debut 928 series—now exhibited in Copenhagen's Designmuseum Denmark—setting a minimalist benchmark against button-heavy contemporaries. A 1993 partnership with Swedish firm Xena, involving Lars Pedersen, propelled the influential 30 series in 1998, cementing its design legacy while shifting manufacturing to southern Sweden.

The brand specializes in high-fidelity separates, excelling in integrated amplifiers, power amplifiers, preamplifiers, CD players, network streamers, and DACs that handle analog, digital, wired, and wireless sources with balanced precision. Iconic lines like the 200, 300, and ongoing 30 and 15 series prioritize simple circuitry and modular upgrades, from tuners and Blu-ray players to modern computer audio solutions, always favoring functionality over gimmicks.

Primare occupies a premium mid-to-high-end niche, revered by discerning buyers for its honest integrity, timeless Scandinavian design, and deeply satisfying performance that endures across decades. Award-winning components, such as the EISA-honored CD32/I32, deliver audiophile purity without ostentation, positioning Primare as a practical choice for those seeking lasting quality over fleeting trends in a market craving authenticity.
