Seller's Description

Pair of Neat Mystique Classic floorstanders in Natural Oak, purchased new from Doug Brady HiFi approximately 18 months ago. Excellent, virtually immaculate condition with no marks or damage. Complete with original boxes/packaging and accessories, plus original Doug Brady purchase receipt. A reluctant sale due to a change of direction with my system. £1,895 Collection preferred due to size/weight. Located in Eccles, Greater Manchester.

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

This looks like a fair-to-good ask, not a bargain, but it’s close enough to be interesting for the right buyer. New pricing for the current Mystique Classic sits around £2,475 to £2,595, and used examples commonly surface well below that, with recent market activity clustering roughly around the mid-£1,000s to low-£2,000s depending on finish and condition; at £1,895, this is broadly in the fair/solid zone rather than a standout deal.

The attraction is the usual Neat formula: lively, compact floorstanders with real pace, a sweet midrange, and a presentation that feels musically engaging rather than overly analytical. They’re especially appealing if the pair is clean, complete, and from a careful owner, because good examples tend to be easy to live with and rewarding across a wide range of music. At this price, I’d mainly want confirmation of original packaging, spikes, and tidy driver/cabinet condition; otherwise, it reads as a sensible buy.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Neat Acoustics

Neat Acoustics traces its roots to 1989, when musician Bob Surgeoner founded the company in northern England, drawing inspiration from his lifelong passion for genres like blues, rock, jazz, and folk. Originally named North Eastern Audio Traders—hence the acronym NEAT—the brand emerged from Surgeoner's retail background in County Durham and has since operated from Teesdale, handcrafting speakers for over three decades with a focus on musical authenticity.

The company specializes exclusively in loudspeakers, renowned for compact, innovative designs that punch well above their size. Neat employs distinctive isobaric configurations—rare among British makers—alongside precision-tuned cabinets and bass reflex ports to deliver balanced, enveloping sound with rich bass, harmonic highs, and subtle details. Models range from diminutive standmounts like the Petite Classic to ambitious floorstanders such as the Mystique, all finished in real wood veneers and built to prioritize the essence of music over mere specifications.

Positioned firmly in the high-end market, Neat Acoustics earns acclaim among audiophiles for sonic excellence and craftsmanship, offering ultimate musical reproduction regardless of scale or price. Tuned by musicians and distributed worldwide, its speakers stand as a boutique choice for discerning buyers seeking pure, exciting fidelity that transcends conventional measurements.
