Our Thoughts RADAR AI

At A$2,200, this Willsenton R8 listing is ambitious, sitting well above the A$1,766 75th percentile for recent used AUD listings, so it is not a bargain but rather a premium ask for a condition that claims like_new. While the price exceeds the typical used market range anchored by your ground truth median of A$1,605, the R8 remains a worthy buy for its exceptional value proposition: it delivers 45 watts per channel in ultra-linear mode and a sweeter 25 watts in triode mode, powered by massive transformers that ensure quiet operation even against amplifiers costing triple or quadruple the price. Its flexibility to swap KT-88 tubes for EL-34s, combined with its reputation for besting far more expensive amps, offers meaningful upside for a buyer who prioritizes sonic performance over brand prestige, though the high asking price demands confidence in the like_new condition and inclusion of all original accessories.
