It’s not outrageous if the deck is genuinely clean, fully working, and recently serviced, but it should command extra confidence from the seller to justify the number.
That said, the HMK-D 100 is the kind of vintage cassette deck that appeals to collectors who value character and build quality as much as straight utility. If it’s a tidy, original example with good playback/recording performance, it could still be worth a look; just want proof that the transport, belts, heads, and all functions are healthy before paying top-end money.
