At €110, this sits right around the middle of the recent European asking market for similar Loewe Opta Planet radios, with a median of €101 and a 25th/75th spread of €82 to €153, so it reads as fair rather than especially cheap or ambitious. It is not a bargain-bin score, but it is also comfortably below the upper end of what these sets have been listing for.
That makes it a sensible buy if the set is complete and the cabinet/trim present well. These Loewe Opta tubes are loved for their strong period styling and solid build, and a clean, honest example can be very appealing as a display piece or restoration candidate. At this price, the main thing to check is working status, originality, and whether any knobs, back cover, or internal parts are missing.

Loewe was founded in Berlin in 1923 by Siegmund and David Ludwig Loewe, and it belongs among the older names in German consumer electronics. Its early history is tied to radio and television development, and the brand later established its manufacturing and design base in Kronach, Bavaria, where it has long emphasized “Made in Germany” production and in-house engineering.
For today’s market, Loewe is best known for premium televisions, home-cinema systems, soundbars, and related audio components rather than a broad hi-fi catalog. It is not typically a maker of separate amplifiers, turntables, DACs, headphones, or cables in the way specialist audio brands are. The company’s audio presence is usually integrated into its AV ecosystem, with an emphasis on design-led, high-performance living-room products.
In market position, Loewe sits in the upscale to luxury end of the consumer AV segment. Its appeal is strongest among buyers who value craftsmanship, minimalist industrial design, and a distinctly German premium image alongside strong picture and sound quality. It is less of a vintage-collector audio name than a contemporary high-end lifestyle AV brand, with its reputation built on television heritage and polished, design-forward home entertainment.
