These little Genelecs have a strong reputation for honest, studio-grade sound in a compact footprint, and kr2,900 sits well below the kr4,311 25th percentile for recent SEK comps. That makes this look like a strong deal rather than merely fair, especially versus the kr5,723 median and kr7,134 upper quartile.
What you’re buying is a genuinely capable nearfield/bookshelf monitor: tight bass for the size, clean mids, and the kind of imaging that makes them easy to live with on a desk or in a small room. If the pair is complete and working properly, the upside here is high; just confirm both drivers play cleanly, the amps are quiet, and any power/stand accessories needed for your setup are included.

Genelec Oy traces its roots to 1978 in the small Finnish town of Iisalmi, where engineers Ilpo Martikainen and Topi Partanen co-founded the company. It began with a 1976 commission from the Finnish Broadcasting Corporation to design active studio monitors for their Helsinki headquarters, leading to the flagship S30 model—a pioneering speaker with advanced amplification, driver protection, and a proprietary ribbon tweeter that set new benchmarks in precision audio.
The brand specializes in active loudspeaker systems, focusing on professional studio monitors for recording, mixing, mastering, broadcast, and film production. Genelec's portfolio emphasizes nearfield, midfield, and main monitors, often enhanced by innovations like Smart Active Monitoring (SAM), Genelec Loudspeaker Manager (GLM) software for room calibration, and immersive audio solutions. While primarily pro-oriented, their products appeal to discerning home audiophiles seeking uncolored, adaptable sound reproduction.
Genelec holds a commanding position as a high-end leader in professional audio monitoring, renowned for Finnish engineering excellence, technological firsts, and unwavering neutrality. Over four decades, it has equipped the world's top studios, earning a reputation for reliability, innovation, and sustainable design that discerning hi-fi buyers trust for truthful sound without compromise.
