Teufel’s Stereo L sits in the “serious value” end of the floorstander market, with a reputation for big, easy-going sound and strong output for the money. At €700, this listing is clearly ambitious versus the recent used market: it’s above the €669 75th percentile and well over the €379 median, so it needs to be notably complete and pristine to make sense.
That said, an excellent-condition pair can still appeal if you want a clean, modern, high-output speaker and prefer buying locally rather than chasing a bargain. The upside here is straightforward: if the finish is truly excellent and the set is fully original, you’re buying a well-regarded, current-enough model that should deliver a lot of scale and ease. I’d still try to negotiate, because the price leaves little room for wear, missing grilles, or any hidden cosmetic issues.

Teufel is a German audio brand with roots in Berlin, where it was founded in 1979 by Carl Teufel. Emerging during the heyday of home hi-fi enthusiasm, the company built its heritage on engineering-driven innovation, initially focusing on custom speaker designs that prioritized precision and dynamic sound reproduction for discerning listeners.
The brand excels in active speakers and soundbars, alongside wireless multi-room systems, headphones, and portable Bluetooth options. While not delving into amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or cables, Teufel emphasizes integrated solutions with built-in amplification and app-controlled streaming, catering to modern home entertainment setups.
Positioned as a mid-tier contender with premium aspirations, Teufel enjoys a strong reputation in Europe for delivering high-value performance—bold bass, spacious imaging, and robust build quality—that punches above its price point. It appeals to knowledgeable buyers seeking reliable, stylish hi-fi without ultra-high-end excess, holding a solid niche in the competitive consumer audio market.
