Endgame headphone/dac Period.I have compared Goldmund THA3 to the legendary Mass Kobo 465 + Chord Dave combination and THA3 have slight edge over those two combination.THA3 got more air in the treble with silky mid-range. No hint of any harshness, just pure bliss. Such a smooth sounding amplifier...
The timing is decent here: this isn’t a current-generation headphone amp, but Goldmund gear tends to hold interest because the all-in-one DAC/amp concept is still appealing for a serious desktop setup. At A$6,900, it sits below the A$7,897 median and above the A$3,438 25th percentile, so this reads as a fair-to-good ask rather than a steal or an ambitious listing.
What makes it worth a look is the combination of Goldmund’s clean, controlled presentation with a built-in DAC, which suits someone wanting a compact no-fuss reference chain. The upside is obvious if the unit is complete and cosmetically tidy: these are niche, high-ticket pieces that don’t appear every day, and the price is reasonable for the badge and feature set. I’d mainly confirm functionality, input options, and remote/accessories if included, but there’s no obvious red flag at this level.

Goldmund traces its origins to 1978, when two college students founded the company in France and unveiled the groundbreaking T3 servo-controlled tonearm, the world's first computer-controlled linear tracking design. This debut marked the start of a relentless pursuit of sonic perfection, with the brand soon relocating to Geneva, Switzerland, where it embraced "Swiss Made" precision and values of innovation, excellence, and passion. Named after a character in Hermann Hesse's Narcissus and Goldmund, the company has upheld these ideals for over four decades, evolving from humble beginnings into a beacon of audio craftsmanship.
The brand specializes in high-end categories that span the full audio chain, including revolutionary turntables like the Reference, iconic speakers such as the Apologue series exhibited at MoMA in New York, and powerhouse amplifiers like the Telos and NextGen lines. Goldmund also excels in DACs, preamplifiers, cables, and integrated systems, blending analog purity with cutting-edge digital wireless transmission. Every product reflects meticulous engineering, often pioneering proprietary technologies to eliminate distortion and deliver lifelike reproduction.
Positioned firmly at the pinnacle of the extreme high-end market, Goldmund commands a reputation among discerning audiophiles for defying conventional hi-fi norms and producing the most accurate, concert-like sound experiences available. Its handmade systems, synonymous with luxury and artistry, dominate niche luxury home audio and theater realms, backed by a legacy of boundary-pushing innovations that set the global gold standard.
