A T+A DAC 200 is a serious high-end digital preamp/DAC, and A$7,500 for a like-new unit looks fair to slightly sharp, but not out of line against the used market. I’d put it a bit under common asking territory: one local listing shows A$8,000 for an excellent example, while another used listing sits at A$4,150 in Europe, which after a reasonable conversion lands around the high-A$6k range, so this asking price is broadly in the middle-to-upper part of the spread.
What makes it worth a look is the mix of genuinely good conversion, strong preamp functionality, and T+A’s usual no-nonsense build quality, which tends to age well if it’s been cared for. If the box, remote, and original accessories are included, that helps; on a unit this modern and clean, the main appeal is getting near-new condition without paying full retail. At this price, I’d mainly want proof it’s fully functional and unmodified, but I wouldn’t treat the listing as a red flag.
