Overview

Machined from a single block of aluminum, Aries' Unity Chassis has been carefully designed to shield the internals against electromagnetic radiation while offering superior damping and absorption, and mass balancing.

The unit is capable of Tidal and Qobuz Connect, also Roon Ready and accessible via some third-party applications including mConnect. For those with local files, network sharing is a breeze and there is space to add an internal 2.5" SSD. While the Lightning DS platform is no longer available for download, it is still functional if you already have it downloaded. Airplay is also quick and easy for casual listening.

Two internal linear power supplies are separated to protect the sensitive audio components, the femto-clock-based timing generator, and USB audio output. The processor, LCD display, and mass storage share the second PS.

Galvanic isolation of individual circuits protects against electromagnetic interference via two dedicated high-speed galvanic isolators. The noise-sensitive femto clock, digital audio transmission systems, and central signal processing are completely isolated from one another.

Signal transmission is possible up to DSD512 or PCM 32-bit/384kHz.

The onboard Wifi cuts down on cables - though we do recommend hardwiring the unit for ultimate sound quality, and to better handle hi-res streams.

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

AURALiC’s ARIES has a solid reputation as a serious network transport, and at A$2,600 this one lands just above the A$2,468 median and well below the A$2,928 75th percentile, so it reads as fair rather than flashy. It’s not a bargain-bin score, but it’s close enough to the center of the market that the price feels reasonable for the badge and tier.

That makes it worth a look if the unit is complete and functioning cleanly, because the ARIES line is well-liked for stable streaming, good digital output quality, and an easy fit into a higher-end DAC-based system. With condition listed as unknown, the main thing to confirm is straightforward: no network/dropout issues, included power supply, and whether any original packaging or remote/app setup support is present.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About AURALiC

AURALiC was founded in 2009 by Xuanqian Wang and operated as a Hong Kong-based digital-audio specialist. The company built its reputation around the philosophy that high-fidelity audio should be accessible to serious listeners rather than confined to ultra-luxury markets. Though headquartered in Asia, AURALiC maintained a global distribution network and cultivated a dedicated following among audiophiles worldwide.

The brand specialized in digital streaming components and high-resolution audio sources, with their product lineup centered on network streamers such as the Altair, Aries, and Vega models, alongside digital-to-analog converters and integrated streaming solutions. AURALiC positioned itself in the premium mid-to-high-end segment, offering feature-rich, sonically accomplished products that combined innovative technology with thoughtful industrial design. Their ecosystem approach—pairing hardware with mobile control applications—appealed to listeners seeking convenience without compromising sound quality.

AURALiC ceased operations in September 2025 following an 80% sales collapse in that year. The company's decline resulted from converging pressures: US tariff barriers that suspended American sales, intensifying competition from budget streaming alternatives, economic contraction in China, and mounting software-development costs. Founder Wang's departure in January 2025 preceded the company's final dissolution, leaving owners of its premium products without ongoing support or software updates—a cautionary reminder of the vulnerabilities facing even well-regarded independent audio brands.
