Excellent condition helps here, but €120 is still a touch above the recent used center for this model: with a €100 median and €107 at the 75th percentile, it reads as slightly ambitious rather than a bargain. It is not wildly out of line, but it is above where most clean examples have been trading, so I’d only pay up if the set is especially tidy or comes with extras.
That said, this is a well-liked open-back for its airy stage, lively treble detail, and easy comfort, so a clean pair still has real appeal for long listening sessions. If the pads are healthy, the headband isn’t worn, and the cable and original box are included, the value improves; otherwise, there’s enough supply around €100 that patience could save a bit.

Beyerdynamic traces its roots to 1924 Berlin, where engineer Eugen Beyer founded Elektrotechnische Fabrik Eugen Beyer to produce cinema loudspeakers for the dawn of sound films. Born in St. Petersburg in 1903, Beyer relocated amid the Russian Revolution, pioneering dynamic drivers that defined early audio reproduction. Post-World War II destruction forced a rebuild in Heilbronn in 1948, with his son Fred R. Beyer steering the family-owned firm through decades of innovation until its 2025 acquisition by China's Cosonic Intelligent, marking the end of a century-long German heritage.
The brand excels in headphones and microphones, launching the DT 48 in 1937 as the world's first dynamic headphones—a staple for sound engineers until 2012. It expanded into wireless systems, conference tech, and professional monitoring gear, serving studios, broadcast, film, and now gaming. While early efforts included amplifiers and loudspeakers, Beyerdynamic prioritizes transducers over consumer amps, DACs, turntables, speakers, or cables.
Renowned for durable, reference-grade professional audio, Beyerdynamic occupies a solid mid-to-high-end niche, blending accessible pricing with studio precision that appeals to creators and audiophiles. Its century of milestones—from micing royalty to touring icons—cements a reputation for reliability and sonic purity among discerning hi-fi buyers seeking tools that endure.
