€169 is a bit ambitious versus the recent EUR market: it sits above the €142 75th percentile and well over the €132 median, so this is not a bargain-price listing. With the unit marked excellent, the premium is understandable, but it still looks like a price that asks a buyer to pay for condition rather than raw value.
That said, the model itself is a solid pick if you want an easy, TV-first Bose setup with the usual strengths: simple hookup, compact footprint, and pleasantly full sound for dialogue and casual movie use. For a clean, complete example, the upside is convenience and low hassle more than audiophile performance; I’d want the original remote, all cables, and confirmation the bass module and soundbar work perfectly before paying at this level.

Bose Corporation traces its roots to 1964, when MIT professor Amar Gopal Bose founded the company in Natick, Massachusetts, after growing disillusioned with the poor performance of a high-end stereo system he purchased as a graduate student. Driven by a passion for replicating the immersive qualities of live music through rigorous acoustic research, Bose launched the venture with initial contracts for the U.S. military and NASA, emphasizing innovative speaker designs that prioritized indirect, reverberant sound over direct radiation. This American heritage, rooted in psychoacoustics and engineering excellence, has defined the brand's pursuit of "Better Sound Through Research."
Bose excels in consumer and professional audio categories, renowned for its home audio systems, premium speakers like the iconic 901 Series, and pioneering noise-canceling headphones first prototyped in the 1980s for pilots. The lineup extends to vehicle sound systems, portable Bluetooth speakers, and professional installations, but steers clear of niche hi-fi components such as amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or cables, focusing instead on integrated, user-friendly solutions that blend advanced signal processing with spatial audio reproduction.
Positioned as a premium mid-tier powerhouse in the global market, Bose commands widespread appeal among discerning buyers seeking accessible high-performance audio without audiophile esoterica. Its reputation for innovation and reliability has built a loyal following, though purists occasionally critique its measured sound signature, cementing Bose as a dominant force in mainstream hi-fi rather than high-end boutique or vintage realms.
