Offered is „Prophecy C mediterranean oak NEW Kundenruckläufe“ by PMC as new device from the category „Surround Center-Speaker“ on audio-markt.de - the online market place for high-end. The advert with the number 701777520 ends on 24.11.2026 at 11:00 o'clock.
At €2,399, this sits well below the €3,869 25th percentile and far under the €6,230 median for recent used Prophecy 1 listings, so it reads as a genuine bargain rather than just a decent buy. Against a 75th percentile of €8,288, the asking price is exceptionally sharp for a current-model PMC that’s still very much a premium speaker.
That matters because the Prophecy 1 is one of PMC’s most respected compact standmounts: articulate, spacious, and unusually controlled in the bass for its size, with the kind of speed and tonal clarity enthusiasts chase. At this price, the main buyer checks are the practical ones — confirm matching pair, original packaging, and any stand/accessory inclusion — but there’s no need to be defensive about the listing. It looks like a strong opportunity.

PMC, the Professional Monitor Company, was founded in 1991 in the UK by Peter Thomas, a BBC engineer, and Adrian Loader, an acoustics specialist from FWO Bauch. Dissatisfied with existing studio monitors that couldn't balance high-volume pop and rock playback with ultra-high resolution, they developed transmission line technology, debuting the BB5-A active monitor. This breakthrough quickly won over prestigious clients like the BBC's Maida Vale Studios, Metropolis Mastering, and artists including Prince and Stevie Wonder, establishing PMC's heritage in precision audio engineering.
The brand focuses primarily on loudspeakers, renowned for their advanced transmission line designs that deliver uncolored, natural sound across professional and domestic applications. From compact home models like the LB1 to high-end studio references and Dolby Atmos systems, PMC's hand-built UK products dominate mastering houses, broadcasters, and home hi-fi setups. They emphasize matched components, rigorous testing, and cabinet integrity to preserve the artist's intent without compromise.
PMC holds a commanding position in the high-end market, bridging pro audio and discerning home listeners with studio-grade accuracy. As an independent British icon, it monopolizes elite facilities worldwide—from Capitol Studios to Universal Music Group—and earns accolades like membership in Germany's High End Society, appealing to audiophiles who demand reference-level transparency and emotional depth.
