Unknown condition makes this a straightforward fair-to-good ask rather than a certainty, but £772 sits a touch above the £676 median and below the £944 upper quartile, so it’s reasonable rather than cheap. It’s not a bargain on the numbers alone, but it’s also not an overreach for a respected piece of kit.
The appeal is real: the Brooklyn line is well liked for its clean, powerful headphone output, flexible DAC/preamp functionality, and genuinely high-end sound per pound. If the unit is complete and working properly, the main buyer checks are simple—confirm all inputs, output channels, and controls behave as they should, and make sure any remote, packaging, or original accessories are present if the seller has them.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
Mytek Audio traces its roots to 1992, when founder and chief designer Michal Jurewicz established the company in New York City. Jurewicz drew from two decades in Manhattan's elite recording studios, where he honed his expertise during the shift from analog to digital audio, even contributing to Sony's SACD project with the DSD Studio Master Recorder. Though headquartered in New York, much of Mytek's manufacturing occurs in Poland under rigorous supervision, blending American innovation with European precision.
The brand specializes in high-performance digital audio converters and integrated solutions, particularly renowned for its DACs like the Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Liberty series, often bundled with headphone amplifiers, streamers, and Roon-ready platforms. These products emphasize studio-grade accuracy, supporting advanced formats such as DSD and delivering reference-level playback purity without venturing into amplifiers, speakers, or analog sources like turntables.
Mytek occupies a niche in the high-end hi-fi market, esteemed among audiophiles and professionals for unerring reliability, black backgrounds, and superior resolution that rivals top competitors. Its pro-audio heritage ensures robust, timeless performance, positioning it as a confident choice for discerning buyers seeking musical truth over hype.
