New, the Spendor A1 was roughly €1,400–€1,700 per pair, depending on market and stock, so €980 used is sensibly below replacement cost. Against the four recent comparables, it sits just above the €964 median but well within the normal range—fair rather than a bargain, and certainly not ambitious.
The A1 remains a very appealing compact standmount: its sealed cabinet is easy to position, while the EP77 mid/bass driver delivers the natural, clean midrange and controlled bass Spendor is known for.
