Offered is „Elite „Dark Mystery“ Limited Edition No. 56/100 + XLR Upgrade Cable“ by Meze Audio as second-hand device from the category „Wire bound Headphone“ on audio-markt.de - the online market place for high-end. The advert with the number 3758043581 ends on 26.11.2026 at 16:13 o'clock.
Think of this against a used Sennheiser HD 800 S or ZMF-tier alternative: the asking price is a touch above the market sweet spot, but not outlandish. With a median of €2,689 and a 75th percentile of €2,844, €2,999 reads as mildly ambitious rather than a bad buy.
The Elite is still one of the most accomplished planar flagships out there, with a big, effortless presentation, superb resolution, and a very refined, non-fatiguing tuning. If this is genuinely good condition and complete with case and cables, it remains attractive for someone who wants a top-tier endgame headphone without paying new-retail money; I’d just treat the premium over the median as a small ask for convenience, not a bargain.

Meze Audio traces its roots to 2011, when Romanian industrial designer Antonio Meze founded the company in the northern city of Baia Mare. Born from his passion for music and innovative design, Meze initially launched under the name Meze Headphones before evolving into Meze Audio. This heritage reflects a blend of Eastern European craftsmanship and a drive to elevate personal audio beyond conventional boundaries.
The brand specializes exclusively in headphones and earphones, eschewing amplifiers, speakers, or other hi-fi categories. Iconic models like the Empyrean, developed in collaboration with Ukrainian engineers at Rinaro for advanced planar magnetic drivers, exemplify their focus on planar and dynamic designs. Standouts such as the 99 Classics, 109 Pro, and more accessible options like the 105 AER deliver signature bass authority, spacious soundstaging, and meticulous tuning tailored for discerning listeners.
Meze Audio commands a strong position in the high-end headphone market as a niche boutique leader, prized by audiophiles for striking industrial aesthetics and reference-grade performance. Their products have garnered design awards, rave reviews from major publications, and a global following through word-of-mouth and retail channels, positioning them as a force that challenges premium pricing norms with unwavering quality.
