Sundown Audio is a U.S. car-audio brand founded in 2006 by Jacob Fuller, who was 23 at the time and started the company from the ground up in North Carolina. The company’s own history content and trade coverage describe it as beginning with a small, enthusiast-led operation and growing into a recognized specialist in the 12V audio world.
The brand is best known for subwoofers, amplifiers, and related mobile-audio accessories rather than home hi-fi categories such as turntables, DACs, or headphones. Sundown’s product line has centered on high-output, competition-oriented car audio, with its SA, X, Z, and NS families becoming especially associated with serious bass systems.
In the market, Sundown Audio sits in the niche, enthusiast, high-performance end of car audio rather than the mass-market middle. Its reputation is built on loud, clean output and durability, with a strong following among SPL and SQL buyers who want specialized gear for serious systems.
