Bose’s Wave line has long been a compact, living-room-friendly all-in-one, and this one sits in the sweet spot for buyers who want a polished radio/CD system without going full separates. At €279, it’s above the median used price of €151 and just under the 75th percentile of €281, so it reads as fair-to-strong rather than a bargain.
The upside is the usual Bose appeal: easy setup, strong FM/DAB usability, solid speaker tuning for casual listening, and a tidy footprint that still makes sense in a kitchen, bedroom, or office. Excellent condition helps a lot here, because these are often bought for convenience and kept for years; if the remote, power lead, and DAB aerial are included, that supports the price. I’d call it a sensible buy for someone who specifically wants the Wave experience and a clean example.

Bose Corporation traces its roots to 1964, when MIT professor Amar Gopal Bose founded the company in Natick, Massachusetts, after growing disillusioned with the poor performance of a high-end stereo system he purchased as a graduate student. Driven by a passion for replicating the immersive qualities of live music through rigorous acoustic research, Bose launched the venture with initial contracts for the U.S. military and NASA, emphasizing innovative speaker designs that prioritized indirect, reverberant sound over direct radiation. This American heritage, rooted in psychoacoustics and engineering excellence, has defined the brand's pursuit of "Better Sound Through Research."
Bose excels in consumer and professional audio categories, renowned for its home audio systems, premium speakers like the iconic 901 Series, and pioneering noise-canceling headphones first prototyped in the 1980s for pilots. The lineup extends to vehicle sound systems, portable Bluetooth speakers, and professional installations, but steers clear of niche hi-fi components such as amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or cables, focusing instead on integrated, user-friendly solutions that blend advanced signal processing with spatial audio reproduction.
Positioned as a premium mid-tier powerhouse in the global market, Bose commands widespread appeal among discerning buyers seeking accessible high-performance audio without audiophile esoterica. Its reputation for innovation and reliability has built a loyal following, though purists occasionally critique its measured sound signature, cementing Bose as a dominant force in mainstream hi-fi rather than high-end boutique or vintage realms.
