Norse 2 Series loudspeaker cables deliver a level of performance not previously possible at their price points. Nordost’s proprietary Micro Mono-Filament construction creates a virtual air dielectric complete with an elegantly engineered suspension system. When combined with silver-plated O...
At A$7,500, this sits just above the clearest recent Australian reference for a similar Tyr 2 speaker-cable listing at A$7,200, while another 6m example has been seen much higher at A$9,500 and A$13,500, so this is broadly fair rather than a bargain. Against the obvious alternative of spending the same money on a newer mid-tier cable, you’re paying for a much more serious top-flight Nordost loom, not merely a brand premium.
Tyr 2 is well regarded for speed, openness, and very low perceived haze, which is exactly why people keep chasing it second-hand. If the run is original, clean, and properly terminated, this is the kind of cable that can be a real system-level upgrade and hold value well; I’d mainly want confirmation of length, connectors, and that the presentation is genuinely excellent for the ask.

Nordost, an American high-end audio brand, traces its origins to 1991 when it was founded in Massachusetts, just outside Boston. From the outset, the company committed to designing, engineering, and manufacturing all products exclusively in the United States, drawing on aerospace-derived technologies like conductor solutions to pioneer its signature flat cable geometry. This Northeast-rooted heritage—reflected even in the brand's name, meaning "northeast" in Scandinavian languages—has defined Nordost as a beacon of innovation in signal preservation for over three decades.
The brand specializes in premium hi-fi cables and accessories, including speaker cables, interconnects, digital cables, power cords, and video transmission lines. Nordost employs advanced techniques such as Micro Mono-Filament construction and mechanically tuned lengths to minimize distortion and maximize fidelity. Beyond cables, its lineup extends to power distribution systems, grounding solutions, and resonance control devices, forming a comprehensive ecosystem that enhances the entire audio chain without venturing into amplifiers, speakers, or turntables.
Renowned among audiophiles worldwide, Nordost occupies a premium niche in the high-end market, celebrated for revolutionary designs that deliver unadulterated sound. From accessible Leif series entry points to exotic Valhalla and Odin flagships, its products command respect in over 60 countries, positioning the brand as a go-to for discerning buyers seeking boundary-pushing performance and uncompromising quality.
