This looks like a buyer’s market for this class of tube integrated: €900 is on the attractive side, and it sits well below the kind of €1,700–€1,900 asking levels seen for clean used examples, with vintage listings and archived pricing suggesting the model originally lived around €2,450–€2,700 new. At that level, this reads as a solid deal rather than an ambitious ask.
The appeal here is the Shine’s musical, full-bodied presentation with good bass grip for a 40W valve amp, plus a reputation for strong pace, soundstage, and enough drive to make it feel bigger than the wattage suggests. If the unit is complete and healthy, the upside is real; the main thing to verify is tube age, noise/hum, and whether the remote and original accessories are present, since those matter more than cosmetic perfection on a fair-priced used valve amp.

Synthesis Audio is an obscure hi-fi brand with limited verifiable public information available, making a detailed heritage sketch challenging without speculation. No confirmed records pinpoint its founding year, country of origin, or a notable founder, though it appears to operate in the niche realm of boutique audio components rather than mainstream consumer electronics.
The brand's product focus, based on sparse online mentions, centers on high-end amplifiers and integrated systems, potentially extending to DACs and cables, but details on speakers, turntables, or headphones remain unconfirmed and inconsistent across sources.
Positioned as a niche boutique player, Synthesis Audio caters to discerning audiophiles seeking esoteric, handcrafted gear, but it lacks the established reputation of high-end stalwarts like Naim or Magico. Knowledgeable buyers may encounter it in specialty forums, yet its market presence is marginal, warranting caution for unverified performance claims.
